While we've all been talking for months about Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional, even before it hits the streets, Windows Mobile 6.5 Standard (i.e. WM for non-touch screen smartphones) is reviewed. You need to check this out...
I've had my eyes on the future for a while. WM7 is where everyone wants to be. Its rumored to be the WM OS version that is going to give serious competition to Apple's iPhone. That, unfortunately is going to be a wait and see result. We won't know until the OS is released (or leaked...).
In the mean time, most of us have WM 6.5 to look forward to. Interestingly enough, if you have a WM 6.1 Standard device, you're pretty much close to WM 6.5 Standard. Don't believe me..? Check this out.
I recently ran across an early review of WM 6.5 Standard; and the screen shots look very much like the WM 6.1 screens from my Samsung Propel Pro.

While there are some differences, like the inclusion of IE6 Mobile, and of course, full implementation of widgets. What you won't see, according to the review are a lot of differences in the OS. WM 6.1 Standard and WM 6.5 Standard are very similar.
However, the review was written, not based on a WM 6.5 Standard device, but on experience with the desktop emulator, so it's very possible that the experience will be very different once on a device. Check out the review, and then let us know what you think.
We'd love to hear what you have to say!
